Van Mannekus was established as early as 1904 in the center of Schiedam. By the turn of the century it had change hands and moved its offices and facilities to the port of Schiedam. In 2000 a 50% stake was acquired by the Greek magnesium producer Grecian Magnesite and the company is since jointly owned with TIMAB, of the French Rullier Group.
Founded as early as 1904, Van Mannekus started as a family company in the centre of Rotterdam. In 1990 the company was acquired by Possehl Erzkontor and moved its headquarters and production plant to its present location in the port of Schiedam. By 2007 half of the company’s shares moved hands to Europe’s largest Magnesite producer Grecian Magnesite withe the remaining 50% being seeded to the french Roullier Group by 2012.
